Its been a while now i didn't write anything in my blog since the last that I posted last year.. the reason of my absence is mainly busy..busy..busy.. try to be online but time is always not enough for me.. Dunno why everytime I try to sign in and wanted to write suddenly my mind blocked and I dunno wat to write n atlast just say to to myself ah.. will update later.. later..later..

Well after reviewing the posts that I write last year its more to commenting the hospital environment.. I'm still thinking wat topics shall I write this year in my blog, may b I should write sumthing abt health related issues in Brunei, sharing my experience and knowledge wit u guys outthere..

Receive a call from my fren today and she invited me out for a cup of coffee.. Met her in one of the cafe in the evening, since haven't met her for sometimes chat a lots of topics wit her.. from personal life till workplace stories.. Seems that she a bit down as she told me recently too much complaints have been heard about foreign medical health professionals esp attitude and manner aspects.. Is it really the foreign medical professionals (not all) had bad attitude and no manners at all or is it just the way they explain things quite different from the local ones..Any comment??

Atlast able to take this pics when I went to AED last week... but I think it's being put up in an inappropriate place... Hmm.. Are there similar boards placed at the public view places (will try to search for it next time hehehe)

Do you guys know where its being placed?? Its nearby the entrance door to the trolley area of AED after you guys being seen by the triage nurse(even though its says KELUAR/EXIT)

Really have a big thought and decide to write sumthing about Bruneian hospital..I'm not complaining, I'm just giving out my thought after doing some observation by accident(not research). Its school holiday time this month and its a big relieve i guess for the parents as they dont have to get up so early to send their children to school, no only dat this is the time where parents will have their leave and spent their times with the families.. I wonder is Jalan Limau Manis will be packed wit cars, trying to cross over to go to KK?? as KK is now becoming more and more famous for Bruneian to go for holidays compare to other places.. Forget about dat.. Lets get back to the topic.. This is another observation dat I've done but its not on purpose(as I say earlier, by accident). A friend is ill and hospitalised to one of the ward in hospital RIPAS, so I prepare some titbits and flowers just to cheer her up hopefully she will be happy. So I'm off to the hospital and arrive around 8pm, had to spent about half an hour to find free parking and at the end I give up and park at the paid parking area.So here I am, passing through the busy outpatient section of AED seeing quite a number of people waiting for their turn to be seen by the AED Dr..(couldn't they just go to the OSP clinic to treat their minor ailment). Then I stop by the hospital shop to buy my friend magazines for her to read, saw a lot of people there, choosing things to buy.. Ok done wit dat, so on the way I walk to the lift counter I saw there is a lot of children here and there outside one of the ward. Wow.. it looks like a playground!!!!Never mind wit dat.. So went to the lift and then up to the ward where my friend is admitted.. Again I saw alot of people of different ages outside the ward, seems like having a meeting or wat and some of them even block the corridor and to my suprise some of them even smoke eventhough the big 'NO SMOKING' banner and signs is being put up.. At first I thought maybe they are ask to stay outside as there is something happening inside so I've just walk in and saw the door is open.. Went inside and ask the nurses where is my friend's bed.. Eventually able to see my fren and she's still awake.. She's having mild gastritis and was admitted 2 days before.. She then told me dat she's unable to rest due to the noise made by the patients' relatives, she's only able to sleep nearly midnite after the relatives went home. Yeah wat she says its true.. there is a lot of people wit a lots of noise(talking and laughing loudly), not only that the ward is as if the playground for the children(aged 7 below) as they are running up and about, shouting, giggling... Wat type of place is this I thought.. Then came a nurse to my fren and explain dat she wants to give injected medication to her, I then ask the nurse dat why are there so many people in the ward.. She then told me "Andangnya ni musim cuti sekolah, RIPAS ani macam playground.. Dilarang pun inda jua merati kanak2 atu.. Udah kami suruh jangan bising lakat jua lagi durang buat bising. Udah atu indungnya inda jua melarang dibiarkannya ganya anak2nya buat bising. Karang ditagurkan kami jua kana marahi" I've really a big thought of dat... and ask the nurse again whether they have rules and regulation for visiting? and she answer " Ada jua kana lakatkan Tekad Pemedulian Orang Ramai diluar ward tu, waktu melawat pun udah kami print basar2 and kami lekatkan dekat pintu masuk, tapi lakat jua orang inda paham" she says sadly. I'm so so pity wit my fren and all the patients in that ward.. Is this a hospital particularly ward should be.. Very noisy and packed wit people.. So far dat I know hospitals or wards is for patient to have treatment and rest so they could recover fast but wit this situation will they be able to recover fast and go home?? and there shouldn't be crowds of people inside.. I was wondering whether public really know the visiting hours and do&donts@ rules and regulation for visiting??
and those children 7 years below are not suppose to go inside the ward..
Hmm.. I'm really thinking if in the future I'll get sick and got admitted I'll be facing the same situation if there is no action done by the relevant authority regarding this matter.. Really have a big thought of this...

Is it mentality counts or just attitude wise...

I've come up wit the above topic as results of doing observation with a fren in 2 different area, before that both of us had a discussion that more people coming to the OPD peripheral clinic (outpatient department) rather than going to the OPD A&E dept RIPAS Hospital. So here we go, my fren went to OPD OSP and I went to OPD A&E dept RIPAS Hospital at the same time @8pm. The scenario in both places is really shocking because my fren who came to OPD OSP observe that each patients only takes about +/- 10 minutes to wait after registering and was seen by the M.O and receive treatment after that while my observation whohhhohohoho.. The patients have to wait for 1-2 hour to be triage( to be interviewed by the nurse and had his/her vital signs checked and sort out which priority do his/her illness belong to P1 -most immediate attention should be given, P2-less traumatize than the 1st one but less waiting time wasted to be seen by the dr and P3- OPD!!! - much time needed for waiting before seen by Dr and it depends on how many people in OPD and how much case P1 and P2 have!!!) I was quite suprise wit the scenery whereby there are alot of ppl sitting area in the P3a.k.a OPD why cant they just go to OSP OPD and get treatment thereas according to my fren dat the OSP OPD is already quite @8.30pm, the drs and nurses are just waiting the time to pass till the OPD closes. Is it the mentalility of the Bruneian people dat counts which make them prefer to go to OPD A&E dept rather than the peripheral clinic as some of the people says "Baik pulang ke emergency RIPAS dari ke OSP, dsana lakas kana liat dr" Cheh i really hate this ignorant people.. aren't they being educate that A&E dept is just for emergency cases that really need immediate attention and not for cases such as fever for 1 week!!! Or is it the Ministry of health didn't really do enough advertisement or health promotion telling people dat A&E is where really really sick people go and adults patients who's having fever, cough and watever illness for 1 week to go to OPD rather than messing up A&E dept!!! and the silly things is that I heard that night after he's being seen after 1-2 hours waiting, this man says"nanti ku mgomplin ke arah menteri kesihatan atu, kenapa ku lambat kana liat.. sepatutnya kan A&E ani lakas bah bukannya kan menunggu bejam2 abis2 pun ku kana bagi panadol ganya" Hei hei Mr.. You should reflect yourself before saying the words, you are just having a mild illness where as there are more people who really need immediate medical attention than you.. I think I end up it here.. just for a thought for you guys out there who ever reading my post...

Been very busy yesterday.. Got up at 6 am to prepare foods and everthing for the open house which started at 12pm.. At first just a few frens showed up but later in the evening the situation become much more merrier as more and more people coming.. Food is not a problem at beginning but after 9pm I have to go down to the kitchen to cook some stuff as things are about to be sold out hehehe.. Its an enjoyable day, get to see couple of old frens exchanging stories while enjoying the food.. Wat a happy days.. To u guys thanks for coming.. Insyaallah hope to see u again next year..

its the 2nd week of raya celebration when i update my blog..Still having open house invitation, not as much as last year this year only manage to go to several open houses as my work schedule is a bit tight, hmm thinking of taking leave next year.. Now life seems to be getting back to normal after Ramadhan and Aidilfitri celebration, getting more patients admitted after 1 week of raya and to date my ward is almost full heh.. is raya the time to forget ur illness??? forget do and donts to maintain ur health??? as wat some of my elderly relatives say " makan saja sama jua dr inda meliat" actually i 'm really against their quote and sarcasticly grinned back when they quote this.. as at the end those who has illness eg renal impairment, diabetes will suffer themselves.. its not the doctor or the nurses whose suffering.. being one of the healthcare provider, i to the best as i can educate or remind them esp. patients about the suffering they will get after ignoring health care providers advice.. sometimes i feel pity for those patient who are ill and had to be admitted just because of their own ignorance.. away from the family when celebration is still on, burden the family to come to the hospital to visits.. well talking about raya in the hospital.. i would like to appreciate those people who are kind enough to hand in tit bits and make us feel the festive season eventhough we are working, once again thank you.. thats all for now. will write another post next time..

Ramadhan - A month of boosting ur health and wealth??

Been busy for a while wit work so no chance to update my blog.. the question now is ramadhan a month of boosting ur health??? i'm not challenging anybody but from my point of view there are a lot of people getting sick during this month.. Is it because of natural cause or wat..
Passing by the A&E department during the night especially weekend, i saw a lot of patients are waiting their to be reviewed by the doctor and pity enough seeing small kids brought to A&E dept in the middle of the night!!!
Experience from a friend, lots of people coming to A&E dept came in wit minor illnesses which can be seen in preferral clinics during daytime..
Back to the topic..
Ramadhan is a month which is suppose to be a healthy month whereby this month our stomach is "resting" during the day and we're doing exercise at night(terawih prayers). For those who tends to lose weight this, some of them are able to reach the objective while some are gaining hehehee....
And for food vendors, this is the time they are able to have extra income by selling their food in ramadhan stalls.. Has gone to some ramadhan stall locations and bought some foods from there.

Some of the vendors are only thinking of money without taking into accounts is the food would be worthed by the end of the day (bought some local kueh and it ends up in the rubbish bin without being eaten coz it's spoil/expired/bad/'bangas' before we can eat it). Another experience dat some of the customers encounter, the food look delicious but the taste is not as wat it looks like.
I'm not pointing at anybody but could the food handlers please do food testing before you sold your foods to the publics.. Its is just a waste of your time and money if by the end of the day you have to bring it back home without able to sell off(not even half)the foods as less people buying it due to the taste.

Okay i think this is it for now.. Sincere apologize for those who would being touch by my writing but please do take it positively..

Raya is coming in less than a week time.. hopefully all of us are blessed wit gud health and happiness..

Just feeling bored today.. well its a busy day, few admissions.. Dr being scolded by another Dr.. Nurses being remind to follow Dr's order eventhough basically it not solely the nurse's fault.. Lots of investigation to do, more sick people being admitted.. Wonder why our people fell sick so easily and recurrently admitted with the same problems.. Is it the fault of our health care system? Is it the health care providers are not doing enough health education to the public or it is just the ignorance of our public of adapting a healthy lifestyle...

Got a funny story regarding the above thing.. hehe...

Last nite after recieving report and making rounds making sure all people is asleep, heard the call bell rings. Recheck that the patient in the room doesn't ring the bell so I just press 'cancel' button to switch off the sound and left the room. Less than a minute, the bell rang again, approach again and still the patient denies pressing the button and I just press the cancel button. Just a few step, the bell rang again and this time, me and my colleague are about to lose our patience, as we enter the room we saw the patient's son is pulling a young boy's ear and told us he's the one who pulling the above device. With a grin I ask the boy why he pull the button and he reply "Aku nampak gambar lelaki buka seluar iatah ku tarik atu (I saw the picture of a guy letting down his trousers, thats why I pull it" I just leave the room and let out a small laugh, hmm... is it a curiosity or stupidity???
